When You Cannot Tolerate Supplements |
Sometimes there are supplements you cannot tolerate.
1. If you have food allergies, often this leads to inability to tolerate supplements. Read the book, Brain Allergies, by Philpott. It explains about pulse testing, a method used by many alternative systems to check for food allergies. You can use this method as a home test. Your allergenic food reactions can destroy the ability to tolerate supplements and first you must get rid of the allergies. Most food allergies are the result of eating food frequently, such as everyday or every other day, and/or eating large quantities of your favorite food. Suspect these foods and take your supplements when you are not eating these foods.
2. If you start off with several supplements at once and cannot tolerate them, then stop all of them. Start with just a multivitamin and mineral. After a month resume the other supplements and see if you can now tolerate them. A multivitamin and mineral supplies cofactors. Sometimes a particular supplement will deplete your body for specific cofactors needed. Once you start the multivitamin and mineral you are supplying the cofactors and the depletion and intolerance stop. The lesson, consider including a multivitamin and mineral in supplemental protocols.
3. Consider a B-50 supplement when you are supplementing high doses of any B vitamins. All the B vitamins work together and this may result in one or more B vitamins becoming depleted when you use large doses of them. The B-50 is protective of this effect of B vitamin deficiency.
4. When you are supplementing individual amino acids, considering using ion-exchange whey protein concentrate. It contains the amino acids in the natural ratios contained in nature. It is a safer method to add amino acids to your supplementation when you supplement individual amino acids. You can take the amino acid supplement on an empty stomach, but also supplement the whey at another time. The whey will be protective from deficiencies and other possible problems.
5. Sometimes an acid reaction in the stomach is the problem with the supplements. You can try eating a few soda crackers with your supplements.
6. Sometimes it is not enough water that is the problem. Sufficient water is needed to dissolve the supplements or they may sit in the stomach too long, drawing an acid reaction. A minimum of 8 oz of water is needed and for those who may have a more acid reaction, more water may be needed. This one has worked often.
7. Sometimes taking supplements on an empty stomach or 1-hour before meals will solve the problem. This allows the vitamins to dissolve in the stomach before the food arrives. It is often the food that creates the intolerance with the vitamins. Taking the supplements early fixes that problem. You can add a few crackers and drink lots of water.
8. Sometimes taking the supplements with a meal helps, as long as there are no food allergies. Alternating diarrhea and constipation in a 24-hour period, itching within 60 minutes after eating, bloating, acid, gas, etc all indicate food allergies. When you detect food allergies, besides getting rid of them, you need to consider supplementing on an empty stomach or 1 hour before meals.
Good luck from RUWC.
Note – In order for these anti-aging ideas to be successful, you must use
supplements of the highest quality. Dr. Bob often said, "almost all
supplement companies produce poor quality." You can consider the product
