Adult Schizophrenia |
Dr. Bob treated schizophrenia for decades. He said there were many factors
involved with schizophrenia. He said schizophrenia was complicated, but you
could use several supplementation ideas to help balance some of the effects of
schizophrenia.
Dr. Bob said the following ideas can help balance the brain and body of an adult
schizophrenic. He said the best time to start these ideas were right at the
beginning of the illness. The longer the illness went on the greater were the
cascade of increasing events that made schizophrenia more difficult to treat.
Furthermore, the following ideas are not a treatment for schizophrenia, but an
adjunct treatment to medical care. Orthomolecular medicine has been around for
decades and is practiced by M.D. doctors all over the world. One of the largest
areas of clinical observation and study by orthomolecular doctors is
schizophrenia. Dr. Bob highly recommended that anyone with the symptoms of
schizophrenia see an orthomolecular doctor as soon as possible. There is a
listing of orthomolecular doctors on this web site or contact the "Journal
of Orthomolecular Medicine" at 416-733-2352 or the fax at 416-733-2117.
Dr. Bob's orthomolecular ideas about Adult Schizophrenia.
1. Supplement 3 times a day a B-50. The B vitamins are water-soluble and need to
be in divided doses. Also, there are many reasons to believe schizophrenia can
result in depleted levels of B vitamins, which are essential for the proper
functioning of life. For example, Dr Bob felt the intestinal flora of many
schizophrenics was not proper due to many medications and antibiotics. One of
the direct effects of the friendly flora are to help process B vitamins.
2. Supplement calcium-magnesium-vitamin B6 daily and in divided doses. All 3 are
cofactors of each other. Calcium-magnesium-B6 are involved in maintaining cell
balance. In orthomolecular medicine it is often felt there is a problem of
getting vital nutrients into cells and waste products out of cells, in many
cases of schizophrenia. Proper calcium-magnesium-B6 levels can help this type of
problem. The total daily dose for a 180 pound man is:
a. Calcium - 1500 mg daily.
b. Magnesium -1000 mg daily.
c. 350 mg of B6 daily. The ratio of calcium to magnesium is about 2-1 and
magnesium ratio to B6 is about 3-1. Take calcium-magnesium-B6 at the same time
in near the proper ratios. Remember to use these supplements at least 2-3 times
daily, and use greater amounts in the evening. Do not drink milk or eat
chocolate at the time of these supplements. The total dose should be adjusted by
body weight.
In conclusion, Dr. Bob found these supplements could help tremendously at the
beginning of Adult Schizophrenia. Also these supplements are not a substitute
for proper doctor's care, but rather an adjunct to proper medical treatment.
Note – In order for these anti-aging ideas to be successful, you must use
supplements of the highest quality. Dr. Bob often said, "almost all
supplement companies produce poor quality." You can consider the product
page of this web site. Almost all the products met Dr. Bob’s approval.
Since he passed away we have attempted to keep the same high standards.
