Arginine and Elderly |
Many people use the amino acid arginine as a supplement to assist in the release
of growth hormone. In the elderly, arginine may not work in the release of
growth hormone. The reason is elderly people do not always produce enough human
growth hormone and therefore arginine is unable to produce any growth hormone
release.
Dr. Bob advised the following to raise growth hormone levels in the elderly:
1. 200 mg daily of hexanicotinate, a form of niacin B3. Studies have shown
niacin B3 releases growth hormone. (Ref. Dr. Ronald Klatz, "Grow Young with
HGH". Harper Perennial 1997: page 211.)
2. 2 grams of the amino acid L-glutamine. Studies have shown L-glutamine can
raise growth hormone levels in the elderly. (Ref. Dr. Ronald Klatz, "Grow
Young with HGH". Harper Perennial 1997: page 207.) Do not exceed this dose,
it may not be effective above 2 grams. Combine with hexanicotinate at bedtime.
3. Hormones control and balance each other by feedback methods. Improving other
vital hormones will benefit growth hormone, by creating greater hormonal
balance. Consult with a doctor from the American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine,
called A-4 doctors, to help balance your hormones. They are on the cutting edge.
Their national phone number is 773-528-8433.
4. Use an excellent multivitamin and mineral. All supplementation programs need
cofactors to help make chemical reactions efficient and functioning properly.
Dr. Bob advised using the brand Maxilife. He said it was of high quality and the
doses were deficiency doses. This means Maxilife is like insurance. In many
cases it will have the correct dose, in case you have deficiencies or
insufficiencies and do not know it.
Note – In order for these anti-aging ideas to be successful, you must use
supplements of the highest quality. Dr. Bob often said, "almost all
supplement companies produce poor quality." You can consider the product
page of this web site. Almost all the products met Dr. Bob’s approval.
Since he passed away we have attempted to keep the same high standards.
