Arginine Is Toxic |
The amino acid arginine breaks down into ammonia in the body. Ammonia can be
toxic. Many people use arginine to stimulate growth hormone release. Arginine is
effective at stimulating growth hormone, but it breaks down and can become
toxic, especially at some of the high doses recommended to stimulate growth
hormone release.
However there is an effective form of arginine that is low toxic. It is called
L-arginine L-pyroglutamate. The pyroglutamate molecule is able to pass through
the blood-brain barrier and carry arginine into the brain. Because L-arginine L-pyroglutamate
is effective in passing through the blood-brain barrier you need a lot less
arginine. Arginine, when not carried through the blood-brain barrier by the
pyroglutamate molecules, is mainly broken down in the blood stream before any
arginine reaches the brain at all, where it can stimulate growth hormone
release. Dr Bob said L-arginine L-pyroglutamate is about ten times more
effective than arginine, so take one-tenth dose when substituting L-arginine L-pyroglutamate
for arginine. This web site offers the L-arginine L-pyroglutamate.
Attention: For potency for men Dr. Bob recommended L-arginine. He advised 2
grams in the AM, and 2 grams, on an empty stomach, 1 hour before sexual
activity. Herpes can sometimes be stimulated by L-arginine. If you have herpes
you should consult with a nutritional specialist before using L-arginine. You
can use lower doses if you supplement L-arginine/L-pyroglutamate.
Note – In order for these anti-aging ideas to be successful, you must use
supplements of the highest quality. Dr. Bob often said, "almost all
supplement companies produce poor quality." You can consider the product
page of this web site. Almost all the products met Dr. Bob’s approval.
Since he passed away we have attempted to keep the same high standards.
