Detox ~ Adrenaline and Other Stress Hormones |
Heart
attack, schizophrenia, problems with the sympathetic system such as too much
stimulation of the sympathetic system as in Parkinson’s Disease, and other
conditions considered to have high amounts of stress hormones, need to detox
adrenaline and other stress chemicals. If
you do not decrease stress chemicals you can have adverse reactions.
For example, in a heart attack, the need to decrease stress chemicals is
life and death.
Dr. Bob was a MD internal medicine,
orthomolecular doctor, MD psychiatrist, chiropractor, and healer 65 years. He was a diabetic who lived to 108 years with only 1 side
effect 2 years before he passed away. Dr.
Bob practiced a system of medicine called orthomolecular medicine.
It is a system of medicine that uses mainly natural substances that are
non-toxic and safe in wide range of doses.
It uses mainly herbs and minerals/vitamins.
The
following are the orthomolecular methods Dr. Bob used to decrease stress
chemicals such as adrenaline, other stress chemicals, and their byproducts.
The idea is to reduce the total load.
This will decrease stress to the body.
1.
Consider supplementing DHEA if you are 35 years or older.
DHEA is the bodies’ buffer for stress chemicals.
The dose for men is 25-50 mg daily in divided doses.
The dose for women is 5-25 mg daily in divided doses.
Dr. Bob advised to cycle it 5 days and take 2 days off.
He advised cycle it 6 weeks and take 1 week off it.
Too much DHEA can have negative effects; thus Dr. Bob advised not to
exceed these doses and consider divided doses to spread out its effects.
2.
Consider supplementing ˝ gram of lycopene daily.
Dr. Bob advised lycopene could help break down dangerous chemicals in the
body.
3.
Consider supplementing 1 gram or higher of niacin daily in divided doses.
Dr. Bob advised that niacin seemed to have the effect of normalizing an
individual under stress. He
recommended increasing your doses of niacin up to 5-6 grams total each day as
needed, in 4-6 divided doses. The
divided dose helps spread out the effects of high dose supplementation.
He advised the form of niacin called hexanicotinate, a no flush form of
niacin. Dr. Abram Hoffer,
considered the leader of orthomolecular medicine today, describes that when an
adult takes too much niacin they get feelings of nausea.
Then he says reduce the dose until there is no longer nausea present.
He says in a child, they will stop eating when they are taking too much
niacin. Consider cutting back the dose when a child stops eating due
to niacin supplementation.
4.
Dr. Bob advised 5-15 grams of vitamin C daily in 4-6 divided doses.
Vitamin C helps neutralize free radicals, helps regulate the immune
system, is an electron donor, and many other functions that can help detox from
stress chemicals. Read the article,
“Overlooked Cure for Terminal Illness,” to read about a method to help
determine optimal doses of vitamin C called 80% bowel tolerance.
In high does of vitamin C, divided doses help spread out the effects of
the supplements.
5.
Consider supplementing silymarin from milk thistle.
Dr. Bob said this works over a period of weeks.
Silymarin helps improve the functioning of the liver.
The liver is the major organ of detox.
The liver needs to be functioning optimally to help detox stress
chemicals such as adrenaline. Silymarin
can help improve the functioning of the liver, thereby helping to improve detox
ability.
The
following A and B can be used for short term or long term, to help detox
adrenaline. Dr. Bob said they were
especially helpful for rapid detox. He
used them first when he judged rapid detox of adrenaline was proper.
A.
Consider supplementing 2 grams of glutamine daily.
Dr. Bob advised this could bring down cortisol levels rapidly.
B.
Consider supplementing ˝ gram of NAC daily.
Dr. Bob recommended sustained release.
He said glutamine and NAC could bring down cortisol rapidly.
Dr. Bob advised to combine the supplement TMG whenever you supplement NAC.
TMG helps NAC work properly in the body.
Stress
chemicals such as adrenaline can be highly toxic.
They need to be handled by the body as efficiently and rapidly as
possible. The supplements mentioned
in this article can help to improve detox function, thus helping to decrease
toxicity from stress chemicals in the body.
Note
– the ideas in this article are described for people in great stress.
Trauma, illness, out of control mental states, and other highly stressful
conditions describe the types of individuals that should consider an adrenaline
or other stress chemical detox. The
supplements described in this article can likely be used to help buffer against
stress in normal conditions as well as in great stress conditions.
The recommendations in this article pertain to conditions of great
stress, but see a nutritional expert or orthomolecular doctor for the proper
dose for each supplement in both cases.
Note
– In order for these nutritional ideas
to be successful, you must use supplements of the highest quality. Dr. Bob often
said, “almost all supplement companies produce poor quality.”
You can consider the product page of this web site. Almost all the
products met Dr. Bob’s approval. Since
he passed away we have attempted to keep the same high standards.
