Dr. Bob Gibson lived over a century of life. In his lifetime he was a MD, a healer, lecturer, writer, mystic, and many more things. He even was a diabetic that lived past a hundred years with no side effects until two years from his death. Probably his greatest specialty was curing incurable diseases. Anyone who was ever seriously ill and knew Dr. Bob was truly blessed. Dr. Bob, in the last years in his life often remarked that "after a century of life I can sum up all the wisdom I have learned in two sentences. Keep the mood up. Do not make anything important."

Dr. Bob remarked several times to me that he thought virtue was a worthy pursuit. At the end of his life I asked him about virtue once again. He said he would write his answer down so I could always have it. The following is what Dr. Bob left me on virtue.

To speak of virtue, one must be somewhat foolish and over eager. If he were to suppose he could tell you what this single indispensable quality of virtue is. For it is not one thing. Nor is one action considered to be a virtue at all times. For differing circumstance call for differing actions, and what we may have considered a sin might become at another time our salvation.

Then, if this is the case, then our own judgement of the action is what would make a thing be a virtuous act. But this judgement is not so totally individualistic that it relies on anyone's whimsy, for mankind shares in common certain feelings and truths about what is good and what is bad. We all understand the difference between pleasure and pain, praise or ridicule.

So to be more specifically to the point, I see three things that are necessary pursuits in order to live life as a virtuous human being. The first is wisdom, wisdom to see things, as they really are, wisdom to see how our own actions have brought us to where we are, and the wisdom to see and create solutions to everyday problems.

The second, compassion, is an infinitely giving state of being, we fill ourselves with so much more life when we let ourselves feel what others feel. For truly "no man is an island in and of himself." We are all deeply connected. We are both "man" the individual, and "mankind" belonging to our race, and to each other, infinitely connected and beholden to one another for our very existence in this world. We are intrinsically tied, so much so that if one man fails we all fail, and to help another man succeed is to better our own success.

The third thing one must pursue is true happiness. For only when a man knows happiness, can he lead others to it. It is the way of the world that when we are living in harmony with nature, and living up to our own highest good that we respond with joy. True also that when we go against the grain we experience friction and pain.

Thus in this way nature protects us from making too many mistakes. But this is not to say that all our pursuits should be easy ones. In fact I think we should seek to do the things which challenge us. For only in challenging ourselves do we continue to grow and become stronger. It seems to me also to be that the things that are most difficult to achieve, are the things most worthy of our praise, and most worth the effort. Finally, I would like to say, virtue is not a plateau that we get to then only to rest on our laurels, the virtuous life is one spent in constant search of higher aims, in steadfast pursuit of greater wisdom, taking compassionate action on behalf of humanity, taking action for the sake of others, and challenging ourselves to live up to our own highest potential, our own greatest good. Finding our frailties, and knowing true joy of living.

Note – In order for these anti-aging ideas to be successful, you must use supplements of the highest quality. Dr. Bob often said, "almost all supplement companies produce poor quality." You can consider the product page of this web site. Almost all the products met Dr. Bob’s approval. Since he passed away we have attempted to keep the same high standards.
