Piracetam has the apparent ability to better "connect" the two hemispheres of the brain. For reasons that are not clearly understood, piracetam seems to improve the function of the corpus callosum, the network of nerve fibers that coordinates the functions of the left and right hemispheres. Apparently, because of piracetam's benefit to the corpus callosum, it is an excellent treatment for dyslexia, which is characterized by poor mental coordination between the two brain hemispheres. Dr. Bob was a M.D. internal medicine, orthomolecular doctor, M.D. psychiatrist, chiropractor, and healer 65 years. He was a diabetic who lived to 108 years with only 1 side effect.
Dr. Bob advised L-pyroglutamate for dyslexia. L-pyroglutamate has most of the same abilities of piracetam because it is very similar in chemical structure. Pyroglutamate is an amino acid found in meat, vegetables, and diary products. It is also inexpensive and can be supplemented. This web site offers L-pyroglutamate. Furthermore, Dr. Bob advised supplementing 100-200 mg of no flush niacin (hexanicotinate) to increase cell membrane permeability. Increasing the ability to get substances in and out of cells will improve any nutritional protocol. Dr. Bob also advised supplementing ginkgo biloba to increase blood circulation to the brain. Increasing permeability and circulation in the brain, according to Dr. Bob, would enhance the ability of L-pyroglutamate.
Dr. Bob's nutritional ideas for dyslexia. The doses are for a 180 pound person, so adjust doses accordingly.
1. 800 mg L-pyroglutamate before mental work.
2. 100-200 mg no-flush niacin, in conjunction with L-pyroglutamate.
3. 120-240 mg ginkgo biloba, in conjunction with L-pyroglutamate.
4. Do not eat protein 2-3 hours before using L-pyroglutamate.
Dr. Bob advised using L-pyroglutamate right before mental activity such as reading, studying, schoolwork, and so on. He said L-pyroglutamate is more effective when combined with mental work. Also, L-pyroglutamate is an amino acid and this means it competes with other amino acids. Therefore, Dr. Bob recommended to not eat other protein 3 hours before using L-pyroglutamate.
Note
In order for these anti-aging ideas to be successful, you must use supplements of the highest quality. Dr. Bob often said, "almost all supplement companies produce poor quality." You can consider the

of this web site. Almost all the products met Dr. Bobs approval. Since he passed away we have attempted to keep the same high standards.
