Prostate Cancer |
The second leading cause of cancer death in the
United States is prostate cancer. Dr.
Bob Gibson was a MD and healer 65 years. He
started practicing medicine in the 1930's before modern medicine drug therapies.
He learned to help patients by experience, observation. and learning.
He called that old fashioned doctoring.
Dr. Bob was a lecturer, writer, MD, and many other things.
He met thousands of people in his lifetime.
Most of them eventually learned what his main specialty was.
It was curing incurable diseases.
The system of medicine that Dr. Bob practiced is
called orthomolecular medicine. It
is a system of medicine using mainly natural substances, non-toxic, and safe in
a wide range of dose. It uses
mainly vitamins/minerals and herbs.
The following are orthomolecular ideas of Dr. Bob.
Refer to the article, “Estrogen-Testosterone Syndrome/Pot
Belly/Baldness Cure,” to learn more about the possible origins of prostate
cancer.
The following doses are based on a 180-pound man and should be adjusted according to your weight, age, physical health, and other health criteria. Consult with an orthomolecular doctor or nutritional specialist for any nutritional and/or supplemental protocol. The following are only guidelines. Consider supplementing 15 minutes before meals. Food can interfere with absorption of supplements, especially in the case of food allergies. Supplementing 15 minutes before meals may give time for the supplements to be absorbed before food may interfere with them.
1.
Dr. Bob advised milk thistle in the AM and PM. Generally cancer therapies create a lot of toxicity in the
body. This can lead to problems
with the liver. Therefore use milk
thistle to help detox the liver.
2.
Dr. Bob advised Maxilife multivitamin and mineral powder. Dr. Bob
recommended Maxilife because he liked the doses and quality.
During the disease process the body needs more vitamins and minerals than
usual in order to fight disease. Maxilife
can provide many of the doses required during the stress of illness.
3.
Dr. Bob advised a total of 20 mg daily of lutein, in divided
doses. Lutein is a carotenoid found
mainly in spinach and corn. Dr. Bob
said it is a powerful antioxidant with anti-cancer effects.
Additionally, it works well with lycopene.
4.
Dr. Bob advised 1 soft gel of 10-mg lycopene (Lyco-Sorb) in the AM
and PM. LycoPene is a carotenoid
found in tomatoes. He said it is a powerful antioxidant that has tremendous
anti-cancer effects. He said you
can find this information in studies.
5.
Dr. Bob advised to take saw palmetto + pygeum extract daily (use
only standardized extracts). There
are different qualities of Saw Palmetto. Use
the ones that have 85-90% sterols. Dr.
Bob said this would aid the prostate.
6.
Dr. Bob advised 1 gram of aged Kyolic garlic daily (only aged
Kyolic garlic).
7. Dr. Bob advised Udo's oil from Flora. Udo's oil is a blend of omega 3 and omega 6 oils and also contains necessary cofactors. Dr. Bob said it had the right balance and omega oils. Proper balance of omega oils can help restore normal function to tissue and decrease inflammation. Dr. Bob advised fatty acid supplements that were approximately 2:1 ratio omega 3 to omega 6. Science has not yet determined the proper omega ratios. He also said you can consider equal amounts of pumpkinseed-flax or borage-flax to provide essential fatty acids.
8.
Dr. Bob advised 50 mg of zinc picolinate each day in divided
doses.
9.
There is a good preparation containing most of the recommended
ingredients called Prostate Optimizer.
It has saw palmetto, lycopene, fish oil, stinging nettles, pollen
extract, green tea extract, lecithin and gamma tocopherol.
It is contained on the product page of this web site.
Note
– In order for these nutritional ideas to be successful, you must use
supplements of the highest quality. Dr. Bob often said, “almost all supplement
companies produce poor quality.” You
can consider the product page of this
web site. Almost all the products met Dr. Bob’s approval.
Since he passed away we have attempted to keep the same high standards.
