Shark Cartilage ~ Anti-Cancer ~ Anti-Angiogensis

In cancer, solid tumors are dependent upon the growth of new capillaries for food and oxygen, for cell metabolism, and for elimination of cellular wastes. By preventing new capillary growth, one can curb the growth of a tumor. In other words, starve a tumor by not allowing it to get nutrients through the bloodstream, so it can't get bigger. It would seem by blocking capillary growth, you might be preventing cancers from metastasizing (ability to spread).

Dr. Bob was a MD internal medicine, orthomolecular doctor, MD psychiatrist, chiropractor, and healer 65 years. He was a diabetic who lived to 108 years with only 1 side effect 2 years before he passed away. Dr. Bob practiced a system of medicine called orthomolecular medicine. It is a system of medicine that uses mainly natural substances that are non-toxic and safe in wide range of doses. It uses mainly herbs and minerals/vitamins.

Dr. Bob explained that sharks do not get cancer. This would seem to indicate that sharks have some defense in their bodies that block cancers. Some researchers believe that an ingredient in the cartilage of sharks is responsible for this anti-cancer effect.

The cancer rate for sharks is estimated to be 1 out of 1 million or less, meaning they rarely, if ever get cancer. Researchers report the total number of shark tumors; to be less than a fraction of 1 percent of the total tumors reported for all fishes.

There are also some studies showing shark cartilage can help fight against cancer. One study, by researcher G. Atassi, at the Jules Bordet Institute (Brussels, Belgium), stated that unique and super-accurate photography (xenography) revealed that tumors were reduced by 36 percent in volunteers taking shark cartilage orally. In another shark cartilage trial, in Cuba, 29 terminally ill cancer patients were selected. After two years on this same shark cartilage regimen, 14 were still alive and well.

There are other studies showing excellent results in using shark cartilage in combating cancer. Shark cartilage, as reported by researchers, seems to block angiogensis (the development of new blood vessels). Blocking angiogensis may be a method to prevent or slow down cancer.

In conclusion, Dr. Bob was thrilled that a living creature over 400 million years, could possibly help block angiogensis. The fact that sharks rarely get cancer, was proof to Dr. Bob that there must be something about a shark that can block cancer. It would seem that researchers have isolated the anti-cancer effects to possibly a protein in shark cartilage. There are studies that show shark cartilage to have excellent anti-cancer effects. You might consider shark cartilage for cancer, especially if your cancer is advancing to the stages of metastasizing, since survival rates diminish tremendously when tumors start to spread. Finally, it is advised that pregnant women, children, persons who have recently undergone surgery, and those who have suffered a heart attack avoid taking shark cartilage.

Note – In order for these anti-aging ideas to be successful, you must use supplements of the highest quality. Dr. Bob often said, "almost all supplement companies produce poor quality." You can consider the product page of this web site. Almost all the products met Dr. Bob’s approval. Since he passed away we have attempted to keep the same high standards.
