Accidents, cruelty, murder, and many other forms of injustice have occurred throughout the history of mankind. This kind of injustice often leads to the question of why a merciful and loving Creator would allow these kinds of events to occur.

Dr. Bob said there are a couple of points that must be understood in order to understand injustice. One point is the idea that life is a continuum. This means that after the body dies the person lives on in another place. Dr. Bob called the next life after this life, the spirit world. He said life is eternal and death in the earth world is not an end to your life.

Another key in understanding injustice is the idea of past lives. Teachers and religions throughout mankind's history have explained this idea. Dr. Bob explained the idea of past lives, that life is eternal, and therefore having more than one earth life seems possible in eternal existence. This leads to the question of what is the purpose of living many earth lives. The purpose Dr. Bob said was to have many opportunities and experiences as a spirit in human form. This would provide opportunities to gain many lessons on earth, lessons from mistakes and successes. This would lead to gaining spiritual ideas and other higher forms of learning about spirit. Eventually this leads a spirit to gaining wisdom and light, and thereby growing closer to the Creator and his intent for life.

So the idea of continuum means there is no true death other than the body dies. The spirit lives on and has eternal life. Thus the one that is prematurely and unexpectedly forced to leave the earth world and go to the spirit world learns lessons from this experience. Dr. Bob explained the main lessons. One involves fate. Sometimes, but not often, a spirit comes to earth and starts human life with a fate already attached to that life. In some cases that life is going to be taken away suddenly and seemingly prematurely. This is a case where it was decided to give a lesson before the life began. The one receiving this lesson certainly learns what it feels like to have your world snatched away. Perhaps this teaches the suffering of injustice and will make one more inclined to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It is probably not a pleasant experience, but it is one that will have great teaching aspects to it and will certainly lead spirit to understanding what cruelty and injustice feel like.

The ones left behind also learn from injustice. First understand life is a continuum, therefore the injustice is temporary and the loved ones will be reunited in the spirit world. So the injustice may feel terrible, but in the end everything will work out. The grieved ones, the angered ones, the confused ones, and all the others who cannot understand injustice will gain many important understandings that will make them better spirits, more compassionate and understanding spirits, and force them to look more at the inner meanings of life. For the spirits who grieve and resort to revenge and other such behaviors, they are receiving their lessons also in the grand scheme of things. When they get to the spirit world and realize the implications of the injustice of revenge and other such dark acts they will certainly learn a lot of lessons about injustice! Even on earth they may be full of guilt, anxiety, and punishment may occur, and many other events that create lessons from the acts they may have committed. Furthermore the perpetrators of injustice will certainly receive their lessons, on earth and in the spirit world. The perpetrators may be forced to go back to earth and have a fate that ends as an airplane accident death, as a victim of a murder, as a child that dies from a disease, or many other fates. Everything is for a reason and everything fits into the scheme of the creator. There is no one who escapes what is due him, either reward or punishment.

The whole point is injustice fits into the creator's master plan for everyone. Furthermore, in the scope of eternal life, injustice is just a blink of time. Therefore in an overall scheme of things, injustice on earth, when viewed over millions of years, may be a small thing while the lessons learned may be ones that aid spirits eternally. Gaining wisdom, understanding, compassion, love, light, and many other spiritual attributes may be viewed by the creator as greater in value than a blink of time on earth when injustice may be experienced.

Dr. Bob further explained that injustice often had a component of fate. Often times events steam-roll towards a conclusion. Up to a point in time an injustice that seems destined to happen can be avoided by choosing higher values over passions. For example, the passions of anger, temper, jealousy, revenge, and other dark passions can lead to a cascade of events that gain momentum. If higher values were used such as mercy, compassion, understanding, wisdom, light, and so on then often the cascade of events will be slowed and the inevitable crushing destiny will be averted. So by living your life in a way that a loving Creator would approve and want to keep around, you may possibly avert injustice to yourself and loved ones.

I asked Dr. Bob what is the best way to avoid negative destiny. He said each action you take ask yourself would the Creator approve. If you can answer yes all the time then most likely you will be highly valued and watched over by loving spirits. Perhaps you will even change fate that was started before your earth life. Dr. Bob often said "good luck, and may heaven's blessings be yours."
